Changsha rolls out 100 key activities to boost consumption

The Changsha Municipal Bureau of Commerce released a plan for the "2023 Consumption Promotion Year" series activities on April 24. A total of 100 key activities, including forums, exhibitions, competitions and performances, will be rolled out throughout the year to boost consumption.

The "2023 Consumption Promotion Year" series activities mainly include two annual consumer brand IPs, four themed pro-consumption activities, four themed pro-consumption seasons, and two innovative pro-consumption scenarios. 

The two annual consumer brand IPs refer to "YER Star City" and "XIN Changsha", respectively. "YER Star City" will take the 4th China City Night-Economy Development Forum as the mainstay and hold the first Changsha International Beer Festival, the Yangfan Night Market International Food Festival, and other activities. "XIN Changsha" will highlight the China (Changsha) New Consumption City Summit and integrate it with catering, travel, amusement, and shopping.

To better satisfy international, personalized and high-quality consumption needs, the four themed pro-consumption activities will focus on international consumption and promote Norwegian salmon, African coffee and other products; concentrate on the night economy and hold the second "Night Star City" Internet-famous Night Market Consumption Festival and the fourth China City Night-Economy Development Forum; center on brand consumption and create ten brand events including the 13th Central China Investment and Trade Expo and the second China (Changsha) New Consumption City Summit; and, give prominence to bulk consumption and launch promotional activities for automobiles, electrical appliances, green building materials and other products.

In addition, Changsha will organize various consumption season activities with the theme of four seasons; launch ten innovative consumption scenarios based on the Flower Sea Culture and Art Festival, the Changsha Fashion Week, the Liuyang River Music Festival and other activities; and, build ten innovative platform consumption events through such activities as the 2023 Changsha Online Lunar New Year's Shopping Festival and the issuance of consumption coupons on an e-commerce platform.
